Summary

The purpose of this study is to see whether persons with gout who receive an investigational medication have a higher rate of serious heart and blood vessel complications.  Examples of serious heart and blood vessel complications include heart attacks, strokes, and agina (chest pain due to narrowing of the blood vessels of the heart) that need to be treated urgently with a heart operation

Qualifications - Inclusions & Exclusions

If male, you are at least 50 years of age
If female, you are at least 55 years of age
You have a history of gout
You have a history of cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disease, such as heart attack, unstable angina, stroke, or complications from diabetes.

Compensation for Time and Travel

Up to $540 for completing all visits of the study
